‘NOWHERE FAST’
by Erin Galvin & Sam McGovern
This exhibition examines ‘exercise’ as the emotional and psychological efforts we undertake every day. Sam & Erin explore this through the often ridiculous and revelatory wonder gained through friendship.
The audience can expect to engage with text & photography-based media, in forms ranging from captions, moving image, print & stream of consciousness writing, that are unified in the pursuit of a place to go.

About the Artists
Erin and Sam are best friends and co-conspirators. They share a studio, mostly because it gives them a reason to keep showing up. The backbone of their collaborative process is nurturing their friendship. If you ask them what their medium is, they’ll probably say “hanging out”
Their conversations deliver moments of serendipity and connection far greater than the sum of their parts. What they do isn’t always recognisable as art or recognisable as anything - but it’s driven by a shared impulse to notice things, name them, and desire to reframe them into something that feels like meaning.
Together, they operate somewhere between the non-artists, and the ones still trying to find footing in a
space that often feels like it belongs to someone else.
Their upcoming show is about trying to translate this intuitive understanding and connection into something tangible. They are pretty happy with this artist statement and feel like it’s probably the
best they could’ve come up with
